Malaga 112: trailer overturns on A-7 road, injuring driver and forcing road closure

A trailer overturned early on Thursday near the Campanillas district on one of Malaga's main roads: the A-7 motorway. The incident led to the transfer of the driver to hospital and the closure of the road towards Almeria.

The accident happened at kilometre 988 at around 1.20am. An almost four-kilometre traffic jam formed, reaching kilometre 992. Authorities diverted traffic via exit 989 towards the Puerto de la Torre roundabout.

After receiving the call in the early hours of the morning, the emergency services mobilised firefighters, the Local Police, the Guardia Civil, road maintenance workers and paramedics.

The severity of the 48-year-old driver's injuries is unknown.
